  • The media (alone) will not save you

Sanjeev Kapoor is a popular chef, you might have watched him on TV (in India). I know him because i watched him on the idiot box. Yellow chilli, a restaurant promoted by Sanjeev Kapoor recently opened it’s doors to customers in Hyderabad. i remembered the chef from one of the TV shows, so I figured I would give it a try.

    • The food was bad.
    • The quality was bad.
    • The service was bad.

    The overall experience sucked.

Now, i have completely glazed over. I hate the chef, I don’t like his books, i hate the restaurant and i have made up my mind to skip his programs (if and when).

Negativity is quick, quicker than you might imagine. Your customers will be impatient, they don’t have the time, they don’t need to make ‘the effort’. So if you fail to impress the first time, nobody can save you, not the media, not popular opinion. Your brand will not translate magically into a great meal or a great product. That requires commitment and attention to detail.

The onus is on you. Yes, YOU.
